YOGA BASICS A class focused on the foundations of a strong yoga
practice: breathing and concentration techniques complement a
study of the basic yoga postures. Appropriate for beginning
level students, as well as those continuing students who wish
to deepen and refine their core practice.
OPEN YOGA The design of this class recognizes a variety of
strength and flexibility levels by employing modifications and
options for the poses. Flowing sequences are combined with
specific pose work.
CONTINUING YOGA Designed for the student with some yoga
experience, ready to work in more advanced postures such as
deeper backbends and inversions.
DYNAMIC YOGA Class generates heat through movement, strength
and stamina, and focuses on issues common to runners and other
athletes, such as balance, upper body strength,
re-establishing body symmetry, and flexibility. Teaches
how use of the breath can build endurance by utilizing a
variety of breathng techniques.
PRENATAL YOGA See Gentle Yoga
BABY AND ME YOGA For newborns through 12 months of age. Baby &
Me Yoga is a gentle yoga class where quality time can be spent
between baby and caregiver while building a trusting and
secure bond, as well as, it allows moms, dads and caregivers
the opportunity to engage with other adults who are caring for
infants and babies. This class will explore the traditional
benefits of Yoga by focusing on restoring balance and health
to the physical body by performing asanas or yoga poses and
utilizing breath work and meditation to soothe and calm the
body, mind, and spirit. All poses will utilize playful and
engaging tools such as stories, songs, playful movements,
infant stretches, and infant massage to soothe, calm and amuse
the babies. Babies may, sleep, eat, burp, and be changed
during class.
GENTLE YOGA Gentle Yoga utilizes the participant's awareness
of the mind, the body, and the breath and focuses on each
individual's limitations or range of mobility while performing
yoga poses also called asanas. Gentle Yoga utilizes props to
adapt poses to meet any individual's needs. Gentle Yoga will
help individuals lengthen and strengthen the body while
creating greater range of motion. This class is ideal for
anyone with limited range of motion and is accommodating to
pregnant individuals, people of larger stature, and
seniors.
GUIDED MEDITATION Meditation helps calm the mind and
strengthens the ability to focus. Regular practice promotes
creativity, and evenness and clarity of thought. Techniques
used include practice of intention, breathing awareness and
techniques, guided imagery and visualizations, guided
listening (to music), chanting, focusing the mind on an
object, a part of the body, a concept, color, or voice, etc,
learning self-awareness, self-hypnosis and self-healing,
grounding, and relaxation. This class can provide an evening
alternative to an established practice, or serve as an
introduction to meditation. Leave refreshed and relaxed.
TEEN &
"TWEEN" YOGA For ages
10 and up. Check out yoga in a class of peers. Learn how to
effectively stretch, get stronger, and relax, and explore
simple meditation techniques to calm the mind.
